Christian Faith Statement
Johan and I would like to share our Christian beliefs with you. As in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, we believe that the Bible is the Word of God, written by divinely inspired men. May God richly bless and hold you in perfect peace. Harm Huisman

As in 1 Peter 1:2 we believe that the God exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son ( John 1:1, Rev 1:8 and 1:17 ), and God the Holy Spirit ( 2 Cor. 3:18 ) and these three are one God, each sharing equally and eternally in divine nature.

"...who have been chosen according to the fore-knowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling by his blood:" 1 Peter 1:2
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:1
"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." Rev 1:8
"Then He placed His right hand on me and said: "Do not be afraid, I am the First and the Last." Rev 1:17
"And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord' glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit." 2 Cor 3:18

As in John 3:l6, and, Rom 10:9-10 we believe that though all people are sinners, God sent His son, Jesus Christ, into the world so that all who confess that Jesus is Lord, repent and ask Him forgives for their sins shall be saved.

"For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
"That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Rom 10:9-10

As it is written in Eph 2:8-9, we believe that this salvation comes only from the grace of God, by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, as a free gift , and not by man's good works, baptism, or church membership, or by any other means, as in Rev 1:18.

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast." Eph 2:8-9
"I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades." Rev 2:18

As in 2 Cor 5:17-19 we believe that each person that has accepted Jesus Christ as personal Savior, has confessed and repented of their sins, is born again in spirit, and becomes a new person. And as in Eph 1:13 that person instantly, at the very moment of faith, becomes a son of God.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation: the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them." 2 Cor 5:17-19
"And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance..." Eph 1:13

As in Matthew 28:19-20 we believe that Jesus has given every Christian a Great Commission, and every day, each Christian should strive to obey this command.
